Play Go against computer

Pick a strength and the opponent shows up. Easy plays loose, Hard makes you count liberties.

Record00Captures00

Black to play.

You want a reply without waiting for someone to sit down at the tea table. Fine. Easy if your brain is soup. Medium when you still remember what a liberty is. Hard is for the day you leave three stones with one breath and pretend it was a sacrifice. The computer thinks on this device.

When to use this board

Solo lunch break. Practicing captures without trash talk. Testing whether you still walk into a snapback. Use this page when you want a specific level of resistance.

When not to

Hunting a human lobby → we don’t host that. Want the other chair at the same table → 2 player. Never learned liberties → how to play. You only wanted the size door → play 9×9.

How

  1. 01Pick Easy / Medium / Hard on the strip above the board.
  2. 02Tap an intersection. Wait a beat while the local worker thinks.
  3. 03Get captured, get stubborn, hit New game. Argue with Record.

Gotchas

  • Hard ≠ professional rank. It’s “meaner,” not “national team on 19×19.”
  • Closing the tab mid-game can lose the position — don’t cry at the cloud.
  • “Against computer” results often mean adware wrappers; this page is just a board.
  • Changing strength mid-game applies to the very next reply — the position stays.

FAQ

Can I get an online human opponent here?
Not matchmaking. Computer on this URL; same-screen humans on 2 player.
Is the engine in the cloud?
No subscription pipe. Local worker on your device.
Can I switch board size?
Yes when the control is there; batch 1 focuses on 9×9 strength that you can feel.
Why not only the homepage?
Because sometimes you want to skip the general board and go straight to the page that lets you pick a strength.

Browser Go — Weiqi on one board. Stones stay in this tab. No lobby, no signup.
