It puts the three difficulty levels in plain view and lets you start immediately. Easy is forgiving enough for a warm-up, Medium feels like honest practice, and Hard is the setting that starts punishing the lazy one-liberty shapes you hoped nobody would notice. The AI replies right in the page, so the game stays quick and direct.

When to use this board

Use this page for a solo lunch break, a few clean capture drills, or a quick check on whether your reading is still awake. It is also the right page when you know you want a certain level of resistance instead of the homepage’s simpler default setup.

When not to

You are hunting a human lobby -> we do not host that. You want the person beside you instead -> 2 player. You have never learned liberties -> how to play. You only wanted a dedicated 9×9 page -> play 9×9.

3. 03If the game goes badly, start another one quickly. This page is built for repetition, not ceremony.

Gotchas

• Hard is not a promise of professional strength. It is simply the strictest option on this site.
• Closing the tab in the middle of a game can lose the position. There is no cloud match record to rescue it for you later.
• A lot of “play against computer” pages are really installer bait or ad wrappers. This one is only the board and the AI.
• Changing strength mid-game affects the next reply. The current position stays on the board.
