Go 2 player

Two people, one tab. Black places, then white — pass the phone or sit elbow to elbow. No room codes, no stranger queue. The same liberties and ko rules as every other board on this site.

When to use this board

A friend is already on the couch. A kid wants the other color. You’d rather argue about a capture face to face than wait for a lobby.

When not to

Solo practice → vs computer. You never learned liberties → how to play. Hunting ranked strangers online → we don’t host that.

How

1. 01Black moves first — tap an empty intersection.
2. 02Hand the device (or lean over) so white can answer.
3. 03Capture by filling the last liberty. Pass twice to settle the game on captures.
4. 04Widen to 13×13 or 19×19 when both of you want a longer fight.

Gotchas

• This is pass-and-play on one screen — not two accounts on two phones.
• “Go 2 player online” often means matchmaking elsewhere; here it means the other chair at your table.
• Undo steps back one move for whoever just played.
• Hints tip the current color — use them as a teaching crutch, not a secret weapon.
